Lectio Divina

Spending time in reading and reflection is a foundational discipleship practice that draws us close to Jesus. Our 2025 Bible Reading Plan is called Lectio Divina. Drawing from both the Old and New Testaments, this ancient practice helps us to not only “read”, but “listen”. You can purchase your Lectio Journal at our Connect Center during our Sunday morning gatherings for $10.

Why Journal?

Insights | Implications | Intercession | Interaction

Reading the Bible is an important practice for followers of Jesus — but it’s never meant to be just about checking off boxes on a schedule. It’s meant to lead to life transformation as we grow in our faith and become more like Jesus. Journaling helps us clarify and organize our thoughts, and writing moves ideas from short-term to long-term memory. It’s a way to capture important thoughts we can return to later, and perhaps share those thoughts with others. Plus, journaling helps move us toward action as we tend to do what we write down.

INSIGHTS

What is God showing you?
What grabbed your attention? Look for God’s promises and truths that seem to jump off the page as you read.

IMPLICATIONS

This answers the question, “So What?”
What impact will these insights have on your life? How is Jesus calling you to become more like Him or challenging you to take a new step of faith?

INTERCESSION
